Here at the Apex Centre we love it when young athletes get a chance to grow and showcase their talents. When the opportunity became available we jumped at the chance to sponsor a JUEL basketball team for their trip to Antigua.
JUEL of Ontario is Canada’s first and oldest running Provincial Girls’ Basketball League. There are 28 teams in the league (14 JUEL, 14 JUEL Prep) with games played throughout the Province from January to May annually.
The 2018 League Tournaments will be hosted by the University of Windsor, St. Clair College and the City of Windsor. Although JUEL has historically provided a platform for 75-80% of the graduating Players to play at the University and College levels on both sides of the border, the League also believes in accomplishments off the court.
Along with honouring on court accomplishments, JUEL recognizes Academic and Community Service work towards promoting well rounded Student Athletes.
This year a team travelled to Antigua representing JUEL in the 2018 Gillian Brazier Basketball Shootout March 28 – April 4. Some of the girls on the team also play for Blessed Sacrement Yellow Jackets and train at the Apex Centre.
